Insulating varnish black

Insulating varnish black is an opaque electronics insulating varnish. On windings, coils, terminal areas and assemblies it forms an insulating protective layer that protects against moisture, dust and dirt. The black colouring matches dark housings and components and is suitable when the coating is to remain visually unobtrusive.

The varnish is sprayed on in thin coats so that it flows evenly and also reaches narrow gaps. Since black varnishes show gaps less clearly than light versions, a careful, overlapping application is recommended. Areas that must remain conductive are masked before spraying.

Electrical workshops, equipment manufacturers, motor rewinders and maintenance departments use the black insulating varnish for repairs, re-insulation and sealing of assemblies. Together with the clear, grey and red versions, this provides a selection for various applications, also as an own brand.

Insulating varnish black is sprayed onto de-energised, cleaned components; with dark varnishes, an overlapping application is particularly important.

1. Disconnect the component from the power supply, clean and dry it and mask contact areas.
2. Shake the can well.
3. Spray the insulating varnish on in thin, overlapping coats.
4. Allow to flash off between coats.
5. Let it dry through completely before commissioning.
