Application and notes
The following applies to all products: the joint surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease. Anaerobic adhesives only cure in the absence of air between metallic surfaces, which is why they are applied sparingly and the parts are then joined without delay. Instant adhesive requires only a thin layer and brief contact pressure. Two-component products such as liquid metal, epoxy resin and the quick repair kit are mixed or kneaded immediately before use and applied within the working time. With the spray adhesive, the adjustable spray head determines the dosage; the bond is formed by pressing the surfaces against each other. Construction foam expands after dispensing and is cut after curing; fresh foam can be removed with a PU foam cleaner from our cleaners range. Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between medium and high strength threadlocker?
Both are anaerobic adhesives that cure in the thread in the absence of air and secure the screw connection against loosening through vibration. The medium strength version can be released again with normal hand tools during maintenance and repair. The high strength version is intended for permanent connections that are no longer opened in service; considerably more force is required for disassembly, and the connection is often heated for this purpose.
How does an anaerobic adhesive work?
Anaerobic adhesives remain liquid in air and only cure when oxygen is absent and there is contact with metal at the same time, that is in the thread, in the gap of a fit or between two flange faces. This makes them suitable for threadlocking, fitting bearings and bushes as well as sealing threads and faces. The parts must be clean and free of grease and are joined without delay after application.
Which materials does the spray adhesive bond to?
The spray adhesive is intended for paper, cardboard, leather, wood, textiles, metals and many plastics and also bonds to painted and unpainted metal. It is based on a contact adhesive that only bonds when the surfaces are pressed against each other, and offers high initial tack. The adjustable spray head allows the quantity to be dosed from fine fixing to large-area application.
What is the yield of the PU construction foam and when can it be cut?
The one-component polyurethane-based construction foam has a high foam yield: 1 litre produces approx. 50 litres of expanded volume. It is fast-curing, tack-free after 5 minutes and can be cut after 30 to 40 minutes. The foam bonds to wood, concrete, plaster, masonry and many plastics and is available in DIN 4102-B2 or B3 quality in 500 and 750 ml cans.
