Application and notes
A good paint finish starts with the substrate. It must be clean, dry and free of grease, rust and loose old coatings. On smooth or difficult materials such as plastic, zinc or ceramic, a suitable primer significantly improves the adhesion and durability of the top coat. Paint sprays are applied in several thin coats, each of which is allowed to flash off before the next follows. This avoids runs and gives even coverage. Heat-resistant paints such as exhaust paint or stove paint only reach their final hardness when the component is heated up. Frequently asked questions
Which RAL colours are available as paint spray?
The standard range includes RAL 1013 pearl white, RAL 1015 light ivory, RAL 1021 rape yellow, RAL 2011 deep orange, RAL 3000 flame red, RAL 6018 yellow green, RAL 7032 pebble grey and RAL 7035 light grey as acrylic paint. In addition there are black and white in various gloss levels as well as gold, copper, brass and chrome effect. Further shades are available on request, in particular for own brands and series requirements.
When is a primer needed before the paint spray?
A primer is always recommended when the substrate is smooth, non-porous or difficult to wet, for example plastic, ceramic or bare metal. It improves the adhesion of the top coat, fills small scratches and, on metal, additionally provides corrosion protection. There is a dedicated plastic primer for plastics and the ceramic primer for sanitary ceramics. On sound old paintwork, the top coat can often be applied directly.
What distinguishes exhaust paint and stove paint from normal paint spray?
Exhaust paint and stove paint are heat-resistant special paints that only reach their final hardness when the component is heated up. Normal acrylic paints are not designed for such temperatures and would discolour or flake off. The exhaust paint is temperature-resistant up to 600 °C and intended for exhaust systems and stove pipes, but not for manifolds, which get hotter. For engines, right down to cables and hoses, there is the flexible Motorplast.

You specify the shade, can size and label design, we coordinate filling and labelling with our European production partners and inspect the goods in Iserlohn.
