Insulating varnish red

Insulating varnish red is an electronics insulating varnish in a strong red colour. It coats windings, coils, connection points and assemblies with an insulating protective layer. In electrical engineering and motor construction, red is a familiar colour for insulating and impregnating varnishes and makes it immediately clear which areas have been treated.

In use, the varnish protects the coated parts against moisture, dust and dirt and contributes to the mechanical strength of windings. Thanks to the opaque colour, gaps in the application are easy to spot and rework. The varnish is sprayed on in thin coats; contact surfaces are masked before application.

Motor rewinders, electrical workshops, transformer builders, equipment manufacturers and maintenance staff use the red insulating varnish for repairs and re-insulation. For specialist distributors, the product is also available as an own brand with an individual label.

Insulating varnish red is sprayed onto de-energised, cleaned windings or assemblies; the red colour makes the treated areas immediately visible.

1. Disconnect the component from the power supply, clean and dry it; mask contacts.
2. Shake the can vigorously.
3. Spray the insulating varnish on thinly and evenly in several coats.
4. Allow to flash off between coats.
5. Let it dry through completely before commissioning.
