Flange Sealant Red

Flange Sealant Red is an anaerobic adhesive for sealing metallic flange faces, housing covers and parting lines. The compound remains liquid in air and only cures once the parts are joined and there is contact with the metal in the absence of air. This creates a seal that conforms to the surface and compensates for unevenness.

In service, the flange sealant protects against the escape of oils, coolants and other operating fluids and additionally secures the bolted parts against loosening. The red colouring makes it easier to check the application. As the seal is applied in liquid form, there is no need to stock pre-cut gaskets for different geometries.

Areas of application are gearboxes, pumps, engines and fittings in maintenance, vehicle workshops and mechanical engineering. The 50 ml bottle is sized for workshop and assembly use and is also available under your own brand on request.

1. Clean and degrease the flange faces and remove old gasket residues.
2. Apply the flange sealant as a continuous bead or thin layer to one of the two faces, enclosing the bolt holes.
3. Join and align the parts promptly and bolt them evenly in a cross pattern.
4. Leave the joint to rest without pressurisation until cured and wipe off excess compound.
